Shopify Plus, WhatsApp Business API, AI Chatbot, Meta Ads, Klaviyo, Google Analytics
The client is a growing home-goods and lifestyle retailer selling directly to consumers online. Word-of-mouth and organic social had carried early growth, but their existing store was starting to hold them back.
The storefront ran on a slow, template-based platform that struggled during traffic spikes from promotions. Checkout abandonment was high, order confirmations were sent manually, and customer questions piled up in a single shared inbox with response times stretching past a day.
We rebuilt the store on Shopify with a custom theme designed around the client's actual product catalog and checkout flow, then layered automation on top so the team could handle a growing order volume without growing the support team at the same pace.
Shopify Plus, custom theme development, WhatsApp Business API, an AI chatbot trained on the product catalog and store policies, Meta Ads with conversion tracking, and Klaviyo for email and SMS flows.
The rebuild ran in three phases over six weeks: a discovery phase mapping the existing catalog and customer journey, a build phase covering the new storefront and checkout, and a rollout phase where automation and marketing tracking went live alongside a soft launch to a portion of traffic before a full cutover.
An AI chatbot was deployed on the website and WhatsApp to handle sizing, shipping and returns questions instantly. Automated WhatsApp messages now confirm every order and shipping update without manual input. On the marketing side, Meta Ads campaigns were rebuilt around properly tracked conversion events, with creative tested on a two-week cycle to keep cost per purchase moving down rather than drifting up.
Within the first three months on the new platform, average mobile page load time dropped significantly, and checkout completion improved as friction in the payment flow was removed. Automated WhatsApp confirmations eliminated the manual messaging work that previously consumed several hours a week, and the AI chatbot resolved the majority of routine customer questions without staff involvement, freeing the support inbox for issues that actually needed a person.
The combination of a purpose-built storefront and automation across support and marketing let the client handle a larger order volume without a proportional increase in staff, while giving them a much clearer picture of what was actually working in their marketing spend.
